Method of Study

This study is designed to teach the biblical truth on the subject of glorifying God, then to explain the meaning of the biblical passages, and finally to apply the truth through a question and answer format.

This same method of teaching and study has been used down through the ages. In the days of Nehemiah, a national revival broke out when the people of Israel discovered the Scriptures in the Temple and began to give ear to them. Nehemiah 8 records the "opening of the Book" (verse 5), the attention and reverence the people gave to the reading of it (verse 6), and the method used in conveying its truths (verse 8).

Nehemiah 8:8 (NIV)
They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read.

The elders read from the Book but they did not stop there. They then "made it clear" and "explained the meaning" of the passage "so that the people could understand what was being read."

The method of study for this handbook will be to read the teachings, look up the Bible passages quoted throughout the teachings, then answer the questions and email them to your mentor for examination, correction and input. The questions will be in the format of multiple choice, text input (for you to write down your answer), radio and/or check boxes (for you to select the correct answer from a list of several) and true/false selections.

In this manner we hope to convey biblical truth, "making it clear" and "giving the meaning" so that there might be application of the truth to our lives, which should produce the ultimate desired effect of obedience and worship.

The first portion of the handbook deals with how to glorify God, and the last section explains how to enjoy Him forever.
