Breath of Life Testimony: Pattie

My mentor is Tonya Price. About 24th June, 2005, I went through a very tiring time with my youngest son, Timothy. He was taken to a Correctional Centre for traffic offences. I left with my husband, Jim, and went to Sydney to find where Tim was placed. During this week, while I was going through this distress I started to smoke again. I know I sinned by turning to cigarettes instead of turning to God. Looking back, I should have rung my friend, Hanny and talked to her. I felt at that time so upset and was despairing so much. I went to Setting Captives Free when I got back and looked up the Breath of Life Course. For 4 weeks every packet I bought was going to be the last pack. On the 15th August, 05, Timothy was released on a good behaviour bond and was working by the end of the week. He was given 9 months, but he was released through prayer of TLT mentors, Pastor Ian and elders of the Banora Point Baptist Church. After one lesson, I made a pact with God and made the day 29th August, 2005, to give up smoking. I threw away my cigarettes and just ask my Lord to He help me as I called on him. It is now a total of 7-8 weeks. My Lord is faithful, now I can say with Job," I know my Redeemer lives and is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that Day." God has made it so easy, I have had a few bad days where I wanted a cigarette but as I prayed for His help to overcome, the feeling just left me.
