Door of Hope Testimony: James

All of my life I have struggled with homosexuality. I stumbled upon masturbation in a very painful way. From that point on I associated pleasure with pain. I did not pay much attention to my struggle in Jr. high or high school except that the times that I fantasized and sinned it would be about those of my own sex.

Finally a few years into college I met someone I could talk to about my struggle. He started me on a road of freedom. It has been more than 10 years of trying and not trying to battle this, of depression, hopelessness and rebellion as well as small victories, successes and submission to Christ.

Now with the help of this course and the courage to take the risks of bringing my struggle more into the light I am experiencing a freedom that I can say is a huge turning point in my life.

With the help of having a mentor in this course, now having an accountability partner and my pastor knowing my struggles, the day to day living and struggles are easier to deal with. I am walking with Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit. I am free. I never would have thought I would say that. Praise God, I am free!!
