Door of Hope Testimony: Clark

I have been involved in levels of homosexuality for many years. Started around 21 and continued until about 30. While I never got involved in heavy activity, I was seduced into thinking that this was who I am. I got married when I was 24 and stopped all activity until my first child was born and I suppose the stress of it all lead me right back. From 28 to 30 I sadly searched for love thru sex with men. I became very detached from my wife and family and moved so far away from God. I was at the point of committing suicide.

God brought me and my family to a new church and thru the really good worship, teaching and meeting good mature christian men, I began to see how powerless I was to this and that I finally wanted to be rid of it forever. I prayed and read many books and began to beg God to let me know him, really. It took some time but things got back in control and God began to pave the way to recovery.

I found this course after a long time in recovery but I still could not be rid of my desires entirely. I would also fall into temptation and while my actions were far and few between I felt the homosexuality monster still alive within me. This course really helped me more than I can say. It motivated me to find an accountability partner and confess my sins, all of them and found that this was very cleansing.

I am now at a point that I can see the damage and foolishness of my sin, what it really is and what it has done to my life. I understand that the battle has been one and that by following the steps in the course that it enabled me to get over the battle in my mind and eliminate the things that made me begin to stumble. It was not until about day 40 that things made such sense and I had an "ah-ha" experience. I do not want to be involved in homosexuality anymore and this course was a tool to get me closer to God, my wife and my family. It has gotten me very far from my sin and finally I feel free. It is really incredible!
