Door of Hope Testimony:
For me, I think the Bible Studeis were the most helpful aspect of the course, primarily because i had come out of homosexuality almost 2 years previously - and yet I wasnt equipped Scripturally. For example - as Paul says "....such were some BUT....", that whole passage of scripture, I had read many times before, but never really saw what is said. Having examined it through the lessons on Door of hope, I have developed a fuller understanding of the way God views homosexuality, and subsequently developed my own understanding of homosexuality.
Secondly, and of equal importance to me has been the feed back I have received from my mentor. She has brought fuller explanations to the areas that applied to me through the course. It is also, without a doubt, invaluable, knowing that there is a Godly person walking with you, the road that they have walked themselves, and knowing that it can be done, in the power of Christ, and that they are with you everystep of the way.
Since taking the course I have been able to talk more freely about my feelings in this area. I have been able to explore the areas that have contributed to my becoming involved in homosexuality. That sense of being alone has been lifted, dispite having confidence in my friend and pastor, who has been brilliant. Having a mentor who has walked the same road just lessened the isolation I was feeling. My thinking toward myself has changed in as much as I dont feel obligated to hide my past as I have in the past. The testimonies of the people on DOH really depict that there is freedom - they are free from the sin and free from the shame also. Id like to come to the place where I am able to minister in such a way.
