Day 1 - Part 2

Look at the HOPE we have for real change, as we focus on the glory of God. According to the above passage, as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are being transformed into the same image, that is, into Christ-likeness. As our motive becomes the glory of God and as we begin to focus on His glory, we are transformed!

Question 5

In the past, have you tried to stop those destructive behaviors that now enslave you, only to fail? According to the teaching so far, why did you fail?

Question 6

Are you now sensing a hope that you can truly change? If so, upon what is that hope based?

Finally, let us see what the glory of God really is. The glory of God is multi-faceted and difficult to reduce to words. But God has not left us in the dark as to what His glory is. Notice this passage of Scripture:

1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:1-4

Notice that verse 3 calls "the Son," Who is Jesus Christ, "the brightness of His glory." This is important. When the Scriptures direct us to focus on the glory of the Lord, what they actually state is to see this glory in Jesus Christ, God's Son. So, let us make the connection here. If we desire to be transformed, we must focus on God's glory, and God's glory is wrapped up in the Person of Jesus ...
