Day 3 - Part 1

Dear friend,

Today is the first day of your juice fast, drink only liquids. It is best to drink liquids that are clear and fresh, such as fresh juices, vegetable broth, etc. but no dairy, coffee, or anything "heavy" or that "settles." You can usually find good fresh juices in the grocery store or the local juice bar, but if you’re on the road feel free to drink anything available, trying of course to keep it "light and clear". Drink one or two 8 oz. drinks for every "meal" along with water if thirsty. You can, also, have fresh fruit smoothies as well.

Course member Mary writes, "Today is the first day of total liquids. The past two days have gone well. I did not experience any headaches yesterday as I did on Monday. Started another water aerobics class yesterday and had no problems there. A group of us always go out for breakfast afterwards and no one said anything about the fruit plate I had. Now Thursday will be another story when all I order is juice. But that's okay, I'm sure the Lord will give me words to say that will appease them.

John (husband) has finally come to terms with the fast. He is confident now that I'll be okay and has been encouraging me. I shared with Brian yesterday that I was nervous about cooking for John and Mom while fasting. Please keep this in prayer because in the past, making dinner was a time I wanted to nibble. Yesterday I kept a bottle of water handy and drank from it often.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the lessons and the reminders that the Lord is caring for me and protecting me. It's always comforting to know He's in control!
