As a person who tends to lean towards independence, this study and fast has reminded me how extremely important it is to be dependant on Christ. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 I could have never made it through this fast in my on strength.I have daily read from God's Word for years. However, I have not daily sought His help, through this fast I did. He always came to my rescue and gave me exactly what I needed.
The fast did have some hard times, temptation was great. The enemy was active in his efforts to wrestle me down to the ground. My Lord is mightier.
I also lost weight. It is a good feeling to have clothing that I could not wear anymore, because of weight gain, fit. I just feel better, physically, emotionally and most importantly, spiritually. I do have some fear that I will gain it back. However, I also know the One who can conquer all my fears. I must run to Him when they arise. Better yet, I had better not get far enough away that I would need to run to Him.
