The Lord's Table II Testimony: Jenny

I was absolutely amazed at how God carried me through this fasting time and how it was so different from what I expected. I expected it to be very difficult and full of temptation. I was actually dreading it. I found it to be a very freeing time. It was a time for me of God lavishing His love on me and caring for me in ways I have never known. I really felt free of the draw of food. I was amazed that I was able to prepare food for my family, enjoy it and not eat it. The smoothies and juice kept me satisfied and my time not eating was spent with the Lord. It was wonderful. I had a few times of temptation that stemmed out of feeling anxious but since food was not an option, it drove me to the cross and the Lord was able to deal with my heartache like food never could. I end this fast feeling like I don't NEED food. I know my body needs it for sustenance but I do not NEED it to fill me. I am looking forward to enjoying tastes but do not feel the need to feast and am not consumed with the thoughts of what I am going to "get" to eat like I was prior to starting the Lord's Table courses. Praise God!! Oh, and I am at a weight that I have only been at once for a brief time in over 20 years!! I did not go into this fast expecting that and it was not my focus but wow am I enjoying this gift. I played football with my family and friends last night and could move my body! I have been praying for this for years and He answered it beyond what I hoped for or could have imagined!
