The Lord's Table II Testimony: Cindy

God himself called me to this fast and to this study. I am so thankful to Him and to Setting Captives Free for all He has shown me over the last 20 days. My hearts desire was to be close to Him and today I am in tears because I do not want to get wrapped up in the things of the world again which includes letting food run my life. I have enjoyed the time I have spent with my Lord and I truly believe this study has given me from His Word the necessary tools or I should say armor to go out in battle against the desires of the flesh and the darts and temptations that will inevitably come from the evil one. Thank you for the insights you have given through the Scripture and the wealth from the Word of God that you have shared through this study.

I was completely nourished by my Lord during the entire fast, as I did not hunger one bit. I did not even crave anything. I cooked for my husband, went to dinners and lunches with people and it did not bother me at all. What it did show me was that my flesh had been doing the craving and overeating all these years, and the flesh man is very strong in me. As I learned about this flesh pull to do things to please myself, God showed me just how much I had been pleasing me and not looking around to serve others. He served me and now I want to serve others and show His love to them. I actually have a new heart, in that I want to deny myself, I want to lay down my rights, for HIM and do for others before myself. I pray this desire in my heart will grow and not diminish.

When I began Phase I, I weighed in at 204. I lost 16 pounds. As I began Phase II, I weighed in at 188. Lost 13 pounds. Now I weigh 175. My original goal was 170 and my final goal is 135. God delivered me from smoking 8 years ago and the weight started pouring on and I knew God was the answer to my weight reduction yet I could never surrender it to him until now. Thanks to Setting Captives Free's Bible Study TLT God has become master over my eating habits now too. I may not be at my goal right now but I know God will take me to the place He wants me to be where weight is concerned and I am sure enjoying the journey with HIM!!
