We’ve challenged you to make God’s glory your motive for obtaining freedom from alcoholism and drug abuse. And that motive offers real hope! Because when we focus on the glory of God, we will inevitably change. Let's look at a few final Bible verses for some further insight:

Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:16-18

According to the verses above, what is it that enables us to be transformed?

This is starting to get good, isn't it? Look at the hope we can have for real change when we focus on the glory of God. According to the passage above, as we behold the glory of the Lord we are being transformed into the same image; into Christ-likeness. As we begin to focus on the glory of God, we become transformed!

If you have tried to obtain freedom in the past and failed, according to the teaching so far, why did you fail?
