New Wine Testimony: Leonard

I started drinking in the 1970s. I was a shy and withdrawn person, where alcohol gave me the false confidence to talk and be sociable. I met my wife in a bar and I totalled 3 cars because of my drinking. God had his hands on me and protected me even before I knew him. I was a friend of satan and an enemy of God. I was an alcoholic that would black out and have the dts every morning when I woke up. God reached down into the pit I was in and pulled my wife and myself out. God arranged for Pam and myself to go to college and get out of the town we were drinking in. One year after we got together, we had a son. We moved to Quesnel where I started my job and where Pam and I both met the Lord and were saved. God took away my desire to drink and for over 20 years I didnot have one drink again. About 2 years ago, my wife and myself separated. In order to numb this pain, I started drinking again. This renewed drinking caused my liver to enlarge and I was subsequently diagonised with a chronic liver disease. I came to the new wine course in deep trouble with my liver, my marriage and my relationship with God. I have fallen a few times while go through the course, but thanks to my mentor and God, I am now able to be free from my alcohol addiction. I am now walking in Gods light and I hope I may be able to help others become free from alcohol.
