New Wine Testimony: Jim

I was saved in 1995. My Christian life has really been broken into two 7 1/2 year periods. The first 7 1/2 years I had a joy in my salvation and the last 7 1/2 I fell slowly out of fellowship with the Lord. I read my Bible and prayed less and less and began to get involved in abusing pain medication. I have a condition that requires pain mediciation, but I fell into the trap of "if one pill makes me feel a little better then two will make me feel that much better".

I lost my job in August 2008 and that is when I really fell into a deep despair and depression by taking my eyes off of God and placing them on my circumstances.

But over the last two years, even though I still do not have a full time job, od has provided for all of our needs.

I have been focusing on Matthew 6:33 - "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." God is slowly, but surely restoring my love for Him after I fell so far away. I praise God for His faithfulness, grace, mercy and love.
