Day 1 - Part 2

Perhaps you are feeling that your situation is much worse than mine was; maybe you feel your marriage is a lost cause and that it's hopeless. Well, if this is you, then I would like to encourage you that there really is hope. There is no hurt too deep that God cannot heal it, no problem too great that God cannot solve it. Scripture is full of examples of men and women who committed adultery and other sins but then repented, were forgiven and restored - King David (2 Samuel 11, Psalm 51), the woman at the well (John chapter 4), the woman caught in adultery (John chapter 8), etc.

Please review the following passage of Scripture:

1 "Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. 2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. 3 Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." Hosea 6:1-3 (NIV)

Note: These verses state, "After two days He will revive us, on the third day He will restore us." It is important to recognize the gospel in these verses. Jesus took all our sins on Himself; He died and He rose again on the third day, and all believers were in Him! His body was torn to shreds and by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53).
