Way of Purity - A Free Course

Day 1 - Part 1

Hello friend, and welcome to The Way of Purity. My name is Mike Cleveland; I'm the author of this course. I will be walking you through the next 60 days as you seek to be free from pornography, adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, Internet sex chatting, or any other form of sexual impurity.

Before I explain how the course works, let me share with you a bit of my own story. I was involved with pornography and many other forms of impurity for 15 years of my life, and my problems got worse as time went by. Through my teen years, I read pornographic magazines like Playboy, Hustler, Oui, and others. But pornography really got a hold of me when, at age 22, I was hired as an airline pilot and began laying over in hotels around the world. I discovered that pornographic movies were available at nearly every hotel. Then came the Internet, and sex chatting became a part of my daily life. All of this led to a life of enslavement to impurity, where I had no hope of ever being free.

As you continue through this course, you'll read the rest of my story. I've interspersed my story in the lessons to remind you that this teaching comes from one who has "been there, done that" and is now free from pornography and impurity. I don't share my story to boast in myself—I am deeply ashamed of what I had become, how my sinful life detracted from the glory of God, and the pain I caused so many people. Rather, I boast in the grace of God, Who eradicated pornography from my life. And He is able do the same for you! I have been completely free from all forms of sexual impurity (pornography, adultery, masturbation, fantasy, etc.) since January of 1999.
