Way of Purity Testimony: Tiaan

My Mentor is Neill: For those who wish to be free from sexual impurity and a life of freedom from such sin, it only happens with Jesus Christ, and here is my testimony.I went through 3 stages to get where the Lord has taken me to this day. I started by asking God's forgiveness and help to become free from this sin, repenting from my sin's and living in the light of Jesus Christ. It has taken me almost half a year to become free from all forms of sexual impurity, I had to redo setting the captives free a second time, but then only, did I see the deceit my heart had over all of this, I learned to cut off all forms of access to idols/ images, and learned to train my mind, but the biggest struggle was to become free from self-gratification, something which ive done for years, ever since I was a boy, but after truely opening up my heart to God, through the aid of His children around me and the Holy Spirit, and my brothers and accountability partner on setting the captives free, I saw the lie of self-gratification for the lie it is, I repented before God of having liked this sin; even after being saved and the illusion it was, and only then, has the grace of God been able to enter my life and have I begun to walk in freedom. Like most of us men often think when faced with this, is we think it's going to be a walk in the park, I expected God to help me become free instantly, or within a few weeks, but it didnt happen, my heart wasnt right for one thing and I didnt understand what it means to renew your mind, I had to learn this. The way to renew your mind happens when you had godly sorrow over your sin, sincerely repented towards God, for it is against Him that we sinned.Renewing your mind starts with radical amputation, cutting off any access to things that could make you sin, someone with a weak mind is easy prey for temptation, so don't think you can face it when you start.I had to learn to trust and believe in God, in His promises, His character and His love for me, I had to learn to rely only on Him for the change that was needed.God did this through accountability partners, brothers whom you grow and share with, and pray with, setting the captives free helps to teach you what the word of God sais about sexuall impurity and teaches you how to act when seeking God to help you, you learn to drink from the word of God, drinking from Jesus Christ, for only He can satisfy that empty void that sin once tried to fill, since that place was ment for Jesus Christ from the start, and then comes the hardest part, teahcing your mind to submit and obey God in everything you do, I had to grow out of seeing woman as objects of lust and had to grow in seeing them as daughters of God.A lot of the changes God has done and I can't even explain it, but what I do know is, that I committed to learning to obey God and seek Him every day, through the word and prayer, and learning to say no to my flesh and choose God. He has blessed me with freedom in return, but this battle aint over, ive learned self-control from God as well, ive learned to stand and remain standing and He has given me the desire to help others, other men, to find freedom. I want to direct them to the godly means that God has used for me, but more importantly, I want them to meet the God, the Lord and the Holy Spirit, that I have come to rely upon. GOD THE ALL MIGHTY through His son Jesus Christ satisfies you, He is your strength, He makes you able to stand and able to fight your enemy, and He gives you the grace to walk in purity and freedom from bondage to sin, and a road of life at His side.Amen.
