When I first came to SCF, I was involved in self-gratification. I had gained some freedom over it before, but it never lasted. Through this study, I was shown why it did not last. I was not "radically amputating" the things in my life that were causing me to fall. I was not living in truth; Satan had obstructed my view of truth. I believed that I had to pull myself up, and that there was no way to gain freedom. In truth, I was never alone in my fight for freedom; Christ was right there ready to guide me through this trial. I started to really understand that He is the only source of satisfaction and that looking to my own strength was not getting me anywhere. I started to look to Him. Now my time with God has become a regular part of my day, and I am so thankful to have freedom from self-gratification. It really makes life more full when you rely on Jesus for your daily bread. Praise the Lord for His mercy!
