Way of Purity Testimony:

Pat is my mentor. I had been in great need of more then just a once-a-week program or meeting with a mentor, and the Lord brought me to Setting Captives Free. It was a joy to find a Bible study related to my struggle, gratification of the flesh. The first few days were tough, because I did not agree with some of the thoughts, and I argued about it. Then the Lord showed me, as I continued to work through the lessons, that I was listening to the lies of the enemy and seeing them as words of God. But, it was soon obvious that I needed to forsake and completly run from the sin I wanted to hang onto. As I got toward the end of the lessons I was shocked that I had hardly even been tempted with the sin since I had started. The Lord showed me how the sin I was entangled with was destroying me. I broke down and sobbed about what I had done in the past, but I know that the Lord did that to show me how much He wanted me to stay away from sin and to radically run from it! It was an amazing testimony of what God's Word (truth) can do in our hearts and minds. I feel as if I had been washed by a large, sweet river. Freedom is now a part of my vocabulary, where before I did not think I would ever really feel or be free. God is molding me to his glory, and I am thrilled to say I want to take these wonderful lessons to share with others who are so in bondage that they have no hope of getting out. Praise God for the ministry of Setting Captives Free!
