Pat Gause is my mentor. Pride was the root of my sin. Self-reliance, believing that one can solve one's own problems... it is all pride. My pride led me to sexual sin, for whatever reason. I'd been a Christian for 5 years as an adult, but age is nothing but a number to the Lord. God saw my heart and said, "Well, were going to have to do something about this." So he sent his Son to die for me. I don't deserve it - to be free from sexual sin, God's forgiveness, or anything else. God chose to help me when I was absolutely helpless. Setting Captives Free was God's tool to release me from bondage to sin. We should all be grateful, as I am, that God is faithful and will not give up on us, even if we give up on Him, for a time. When we stop depending on God and turn to other things, like sexual sin -- then we are no use to God and we shame His Name. I did this for many years, but now the Lord has forgiven me and has gone to work in my life, and is making me clean. I do not want to demonstrate any longer that I am uncertain about the truth of His love. I believe it, and it is what keeps me from falling ever again. AMEN!!
