Shon's Testimony

I can tell you honestly that I am completely free from the medications that once affected and Infected me, and have been away from that stuff for nearly ten years. No more Tofranil, Prozac, Ambien, and whatever other poison my psychiatrist dumped down my throat, because I turned away from the way the world deals with spiritual issues and instead turned to the Cross of Jesus Christ. No more "OCD", no more "Clinical Depression" because my "illness" was not in my mind but it was in my heart. I was suffering the effects of sin and not some "Syndrome". I didn't need a pill; I needed a Great Physician and when He pulled me out of the pit of hell He healed me and made me whole again. Jeremiah 17:5-8 is a great passage for you to read that speaks of the blessings that come when we turn our back on the world and instead place our trust and faith in the Lord alone, and I know He is able to do for you what He did for me. Will you trust Him and look to Him?

I don't want to give a false impression that God will just wave a magic wand over you and poof; all your issues and troubles will disappear. For those who want to follow Jesus there is a cross involved for them to pick up daily... and crosses aren't comfortable. What does Matthew 7:14 say? "The Gate is narrow (Christ) and the way is HARD that leads to eternal life." Too many people want Jesus to just get them out of the mess they are in when at times the mess is a blessing for it reminds them how much they need to rely on Him daily.

I know this much, who I am today is not who I was before I met Jesus Christ, and the life I now lead I live by His strength, grace, and power.

Let your goal be 'Christ-likeness'; not 'normalness' for your desire to be holy, pure, gracious, patient and pleasing to Him will do far more for you in the long run than simply wanting to be free from the effects and the chains of psychotropic medication and secular diagnoses.
